West Bend Chamber Spotlight:

West Bend United Methodist Church

The West Bend and Mallard United Methodist Churches have welcoming congregations who want everyone to know Jesus loves them. “Methodists are well-known for their hospitality and love of one another, and this is displayed through each of our members,” says Pastor Sarah Strohman who will begin her third year at both the West Bend and Mallard United Methodist Churches in July.

Strohman feels people are drawn to The United Methodist Church due to its “tradition of strong faith backed by its founder John Wesley.” The services include worship styles that incorporate both traditional hymns and contemporary worship. This summer, the Mallard United Methodist Church will host Vacation Bible School. In addition, the Mallard church has their youth fellowship meetings on Wednesday nights to bring students together in their faith.

The West Bend Cares Food Pantry, located in the basement of the West Bend church, is open twice a month to provide a meal recipe and the ingredients to make it. The food pantry is also stocked with many other household staples to help people in need throughout the area. “We serve an average of 35 households each time,” reports Strohman. Plus, on Tuesday nights, the West Bend church provides a meeting place for AA (Alcoholics Anonymous).

The United Methodist Church holds several special offerings throughout the year to support individuals in need locally, across the state, nationally, and worldwide in their efforts to bring Christ into the lives of individuals.
