LIMITED CLEAN-UP DAY FOR RESIDENTS

MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2021

The City of West Bend will again be providing a Limited Clean-Up Day to assist our citizens with the never ending problem of getting rid of unwanted items.  The Clean-Up Day will be for residential use only.  Commercial use is prohibited.  The Limited Clean-Up Day is an added pick-up day to dispose of larger items that would otherwise require the regular $10.00 garbage tag.  THE CITY GARBAGE CARTS MUST STILL BE USED FOR SMALLER ITEMS, WITH THE USUAL PICK-UP ON FRIDAYS.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ANY ITEMS THAT CAN BE REUSED SHOULD BE RECYCLED.

All appliances; computers, televisions, fax machines, copiers, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, air conditioners, tubs, microwaves, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, water heaters, and water softeners require a pre-paid tag from City Hall.  Appliances are picked up on any regular garbage day.  Do not put appliances out for pickup on Clean Up Day.

CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING WASTE REQUIRES A REGULAR DUMPSTER OR ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER WITH THE PRICE TO BE NEGOTIATED WITH THE HAULER. Call Bennett Recycling and Sanitation at (515) 379-2110.  Construction or remodeling waste will not be accepted on the Limited Clean-Up Day.   

Items that ARE NOT accepted for regular garbage days or this Limited Clean-Up Day are tires, oil, paint, poison, yard waste or anything too big or heavy to fit into the truck.

Items that WILL be taken from curbside on this Limited Clean-Up Day are: chairs, couches, mattresses, box springs, dressers, tables, curtain rods, windows, vacuum cleaners, and carpet (cut in 4-foot lengths).  Place your items at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on Clean Up Day.  Please do not abuse this service or the Limited Clean-Up Day will be discontinued.
